About Me
Humans have an innate and incredible potential to love, create, and work together to achieve greater heights possible than on one's own. Trauma and disconnection disrupt these human potentials, resulting in many forms of suffering - mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. While suffering is a part of life, it is not natural for humans to suffer alone. Healing happens through connection, and I am devoted to support others find the connection they need in order to feel a bit more human again.
I am a Registered Social Worker with 7 years of experience working in the mental health and addictions field. My interest for psychedelics and their unique relationship to humans led me to complete specialized training in psychedelic-assisted therapy.
My practice is based off of the wisdom of my life experience and healing journey, my education, my teachers, and my privilege to access knowledge and skills in a range of therapeutic modalities (which are listed at the bottom of this page). I am passionate about the healing power of relationships – to ourselves, one another, society, nature, and spirit; therefore, I take a holistic and relational approach in my therapeutic work. Within our web of relations, sometimes it is hard to know what needs to change to foster greater healing. I’ve come to know that the relationship with ourselves is an essential starting point, and that living life based on the truest form of ourselves is a radical act that opens doors to social transformation.
Connection to my own humanness grants me the capacity to connect with individuals who hold diverse worldviews, beliefs, and value systems than mine. I am skilled at creating non-judgmental environments where people from all walks of life feel welcome. My one on one sessions are offered in nature-based settings, in office, or online. If you are looking for psychedelic preparation and integration support; and/or are wanting support with addictions recovery (of any kind); I look forward to hearing from you to see how our work might take shape with each other.
If you intend to use psychedelic medicine to support your healing journey, getting support with preparation and integration can increase safety and maximize treatment outcomes. The incredible healing potential of psychedelics often necessitates challenging psychological and emotional experiences. Psychedelic journeys can also be challenging if done alone, or with others where trust was broken.
With a deep understanding of the complexities of the psychedelic experience, my aim is to provide a safe and inclusive space for individuals to explore multiple dimensions of their experience, while providing techniques for integrating these experiences back into their daily lives. Psychedelic medicine can facilitate profound healing when it is held by a network of ongoing support. This network of support can include one’s personal dedication to their healing work, the use of ceremony, art, movement, or other therapeutic practices, and a social network of trustworthy individuals.
I am here to help you locate and build this network of support as you prepare for or process experiences related to psychedelic journeying.
Setting the Scene
In psychedelic preparation sessions, we will address major components of “set” and “setting” of the psychedelic experience. “Set” refers to your state of body and mind, and “setting” refers to the context or environment around the journey.
What to expect in preparation sessions:
- Working together to build a trusting therapeutic relationship with one another
- Psychoeducation about the mechanisms, effects, and safety recommendations of the medicine
- Assessing your readiness for the experience, and the depth of experience right for you
- Exploration of fears, hopes, expectations, and boundaries related to the psychedelic experience
- Defining your intentions
- Outlining and developing your pillars of strength (i.e. self-care strategies)
- Preparation to manage the resurfacing of trauma
- Collaboration on the curation of a ceremonial context
Integrating the Change
Integration is where the true medicine lays.
A psychedelic experience offers seeds for change. Once we receive the offering, it then becomes our responsibility to grow these seeds so they (and we) can realize our full potential.
What you can expect from integration sessions:
- Deepening into your felt experience of change – emotionally, physically, mentally, and emotionally
- Holding space for wounds or experiences that are feeling tender
- Trauma processing
- Making meaning of the experience
- Gaining clarity on parallels between the non-ordinary and ordinary worlds
- Developing a care plan that aligns with your values, intuition, needs, and goals
